The Caring and Loving Poems of Cindy Uduh
THE ALLEY As I walk through the alley I feel the sweat of an old man. I hear the cry of the cat That looks for food. I understand the feeling of those Who have no food, no life, no voice. As I walk though the alley I see those who have suffered.
RIVER The crystal blue water glimmers In the radiant sunlight As I perch myself by the river bank And lower my head down to get A cool refreshing drink Of the cool wavy river That is sweet and fast.
SEA Sea, so calm you could hear The howling of the wind; It is like the meadows, so soft the light whistles Could enchant you into an everlasting sleep. Sea, so blue it’s the reflection Of a princess’s beauty; It’s like the cruel witch Could not even undo its beauty. Sea, so strong it could blemish A whole army with one blow; That is me: Queen of the Sea.
SHADOW My shadow follows me everywhere. When I go to sleep It goes to sleep too. When I go to walk It comes too. I love my shadow Because it is me: Caring and loving.
