MY MOTHER MY HERO

Iya ni wura

Baba ni jigi

Orisa bi iya kosi

Tani ole se mi bi iya to bimi lomo

---Yoruba Poetry.

Thank you for being my Mother and My Hero.

You carried me in your womb for all those months.

You gave birth to me after the excruciating labour.

You breastfed me while I was a baby.

You saw me through my first crawl.

You saw me stand on my feet as a toddler.

You saw me through my first walk in life.

You saw me do my first run in life.

You taught me my alphabets.

You taught me my numerals.

Thank you for being my Mother and My Hero.

You took me to my first elementary class.

You took me to my entrance examinations for secondary schools.

You were at my graduations.

You consoled me when I didn’t do well in school.

You praised me when I did well in school.

You, along with my father, taught me the importance of Education.

You stayed up late at night thinking about my health.

You stayed up late nursing me.

You stayed off work taking care of me while I was sick.

Thank you for being my Mother and My Hero.

You taught me the essence of Humility.

You taught me the importance of Truth.

You showed me the path to Peace, Love, and Happiness.

You revived the love of Christianity in Onyemaechi family.

You taught me how to pray and believe in prayers.

You taught me to believe and trust in God Almighty.

Thank you for being my Mother and My Hero.

Thank you for being my Mother

Thanks for being the mother to Ubasineke,

Thanks for being the mother to Chinedu,

Thanks for being the mother to the twins, Ekwueme and Ngozi.

Thank you for being our Mother and our Hero.

I will never forget your love for humanity, especially your family.

I will never forget your brutal honesty.

I will never forget your zeal to survive and succeed in life.

I will never forget your smile and laughter for they made the world go round.

I will never forget your strength…. you were my backbone, my rock of Gibraltar.

I promise to keep the flame that you lit burning brightly.

I promise to look after my siblings, your daughters-in-law and your grandchildren.

I promise to make sure that your memory is never lost.

I promise to keep your legacy of Honesty, Humility, Love, Peace, and Happiness alive.

I promise to keep being the best that I could be to the best of my ability.

Thank you for being my Mother and My Hero.

There’s no greater mother than you.

You are my Sweet Mother and I will never forget you.

You gave me Life, Hope, and Happiness!

Thank you for being my Mother and My Hero.
