“God makes a promise, Faith believes it, Hope anticipates it,

Patience quietly awaits it, and Testimony heralds it”

Introduction

The prophecy about the return of the immediate past governor of Anambra State Dr. C.C. Mbadinuju (Oderaa), even after two years in isolation will go down memory lane as one of the most miraculous turnaround of events yet, since after the great prophetic days of biblical Daniel. It would be recalled that the prophecy about the return of Oderaa to power even after he might have been dethroned was first published on the site www.kwenu.com before the primaries in the last general elections of 2003.

The prophecy that was published in three different articles namely: Anambra State as numero uno: the emergence of Akirika Duku-Duku; Rumble in the jungle; and It has just started and published on the above-mentioned website was to witness three different stages to its actualisation. According to the prophecy,

(1) Oderaa was not going to be re-nominated by the ruling party - P.D.P.,

(2) there was going to be crisis in Anambra State, and

(3) he shall be enthroned once again as Governor of Anambra State.

It is more than two years and the clouds of that prophecy seem to have settled. However, it is the purpose of this article to re-echo the prophecy, as we all await that last stage that will see Odera rise once again to power by the hands of the Most High.

The Primaries

Whether prophesied or not, the last two years of Oderaa’s administration was in a complete sham and not even a handful  believed that he would be re-nominated as P.D.P flag bearer not to talk of being re-elected as governor. Hence, it generated little surprise thereafter when he was not nominated by the P.D.P. Nevertheless, the event did not pass without a mark that would have made any jittery prophet to swallow his words. It would be recalled that the primaries was hijacked by some party faithful after all efforts to stop him (Oderaa) at three previous primaries failed. Indeed Oderaa had a clean sweep at the three primaries.

He was already home and dry before P.D.P. as a party decided to strip him off as their flag bearer and came up in kangaroo primaries with Dr. Chris Ngige as the flag bearer who eventually grabbed the ultimate seat as governor of the state. Hence, we saw in the first stage how the prophecy was fulfilled even at a stage when it was almost clear that Oderaa had won a re-nomination as flag bearer. God in his own ways, decided to use the same vessel that is today at the forefront of the crisis, to ensure that his word does not fail. Thus, we find the state in one of its most devastating period since her creation back in 1991. Never in the history of the state has the indigenes and inhabitants of the state witnessed such a high level of political instability.

The Series of Crisis

The crisis in the state since 2003 can be classified into four major series or stages. The first was the abduction, and then came the kangaroo judgements, the Okija saga and the latest, which is the destruction of state and private properties. These are four dreaded stages that no one would have thought that the Governor Dr. Chris Ngige (Onwa) would have survived; more especially when his opponents are politically stronger than him – no thanks to “Aso Rock.”

In the last two years and even presently, the Governor has been in constant struggle over his seat with the same person (Chris Uba) who claimed to have single-handedly made him governor. It was not too long when the governor had settled before the first stage was executed. A scenario that is unthinkable in modern democracy where a governor will be abducted yet the culprits still move around freely. No wonder they say Nigerians are the freest and happiest people on planet earth or are we not? Then think of how a court will just wake up and pass a judgement to remove a governor and even after a higher court countered the judgement, the police (our friends as they say) refused to obey it rather they adhered to the judgement of the lower courts. And for almost a year the governor – a governor moved without police protection. Tell me one reason why you will not be proud to be a Nigerian.

After the illegal attempt (Abduction) and the legal attempt so to say (the kangaroo judgements) to unseat the governor failed, it was time to visit or better still utilise the shrines. And of course there couldn’t have been a better shrine to use than the all-fearing Okija Shrine. It was such a master-piece that the immediate past inspector general of police; the embattled Tafa Balogun had to personally visit the place. So what happened? Well it is no longer news but the most astonishing part in the drama is the unresolved issue of who took the other to the shrine to take an oath and an oath of what. Well the good news is that Okija Shrine is now history and the grass seems to have benefited this time in the battle of two elephants.

However, and as the bible eve recorded, when you hear peace! Peace! Peace, know ye that it is sudden destruction. And of course there was series of peace meetings going on here and there and everyone thought the struggle is resolved but Lo! For one week, it was very complex to distinguish between Baghdad and the state. There were bomb blasts, sporadic shootings, and mortal combats and throughout that period, the state was thrown into total panic and confusion. The governors’ whereabouts remained mysterious but at the end of the day he survived. Hence, this last stage ultimately led to the open confusion of how the gubernatorial election in the state was rigged, culminating to the expulsion of the two “elephants” from the party but once again the governor survived.

In the heat of all these series of crisis, the governor has remained steadfast and has won the heart of the masses. Not just because the people sympathises with him but also because he is and has repaired some meaningful roads and salaries are being paid – something that his predecessor(s) had difficulties doing. So why should he (Chris Ngige) be allowed to do such a good work that none of his predecessor(s) had done only to be remove before the end of his tenure or will he finish his tenure?

The ways of God

Throughout bible history, God has not done anything that has been easy in the eyes of mankind. When we read of the stories of how Jacob was chosen against Esau, how Moses missed the land even after seeing the face of God, the lives and activities of kings David and Solomon, the salvation of Rehab the harlot, and even the choice of the disciples of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago against the morally good Pharisees, one will be tempted to say that God is bias. Well He works in ways that are mysterious to man.

Relating all these to our subject, it is as good as saying that an elephant will easily pass through the eye of a needle than Dr. C.C. Mbadinuju (Oderaa) returning as governor in the same state, which he left in complete shambles. And one will wonder why God should have anything to do with such a person. But once again that is where God is above man. He uses the depleted and rejected vessels and things to reveal his glory. Who would believe that Rehab will save or whether Jacob will be the one to bring forth the twelve? Hence on this background we say that Oderaa not being liked by man seem to have found favour in the eyes of the God of Israel just as the above-mentioned.

Thus, we are about to witness what will be one of the greatest political prophetic fulfilments since after the days of Daniel in Babylon. . For the authority behind this prophesy is telling all who cares to listen that Oderaa shall return as Governor of Anambra State before the end of this present political dispensation. And the world will know that there is indeed a God in Israel. The fulfilment of this prophecy will bring us to the knowledge that God is gradually closing on this age

Conclusion

We have seen so far how the previous stages were fulfilled and the condition and situations by which they were fulfilled. It is therefore time we wait and see how this third stage will be fulfilled. Oderaa’s coming back is not because he is morally or administratively good or has been the best governor in the state. Rather he is coming back so that the word of God shall be fulfilled and more so at a time when no man shall take the glory. Let us therefore watch as we await this history making prophecy of the return of Dr. C. C. Mbadinuju (Oderaa) as governor of Anambra State.
